Developers are increasingly being required to consider the sustainability of a development during the planning process and to demonstrate how sustainability issues will be addressed.

Sustainability statements

At Energy Council we work alongside the design team to provide expert guidance on energy and sustainability issues to ensure the most suitable and cost effective solutions.

We can provide Sustainability Statement which are increasingly required by local authorities to support planning applications.

These reports can be tailored  to address specific/local planning policies or Supplementary Planning Guidance, including requirements to generate a percentage of the site's energy from renewable technologies.

A sustainability report covers a wider range of criteria typically including consideration of factors such as energy efficiency, water conservation, flood risk, alternative technology proposals, community impacts, costs and funding.

We compile Sustainability Statements for submission to the Local Authority to highlight the positive aspects of the scheme and demonstrate the commitment of the developer to ensuring the development will be sustainable.
